Mary Jane Cannary-Burke, better know as Calamity Jane (May 1, 1856 - August 1, 1903), was a frontierswoman and professional scout best know for her claim of being a close friend of Wild Bill Hickock, but also for having gained fame fighting Native Americans. (source: Wikipedia)
These unique earrings are made with standard scrabble tile game pieces. The images are are altered digitally and printed on high quality paper. The image is then attached to the smooth side of a scrabble tile. The image is then sprayed with a protective coating, and then a thick protective glaze is applied.
The sides of the tile are hand painted to give it a 'framed' look.
The bail on this pair is glued to the back. May be some glue on back where bail was affixed.
The back of the earrings are random scrabble tile letters, and are not altered.
Each pair is hand-made by Owner/Designer Carla Ekman
