This beautiful picture is from a Japanese print by artist Eizan. The title of the print is 'Snow' and it was created in the late 1800s.

 

This particular piece of altered art is affixed to a larger domino.

 

The back of the item is a standard domino with colored numbers. The bail is glued to the back of the domino. There is no image on the back.

 

This piece comes on a piece of black faux-suede cord.  This is made into a necklace with a sterling silver hook clasp. The necklace is approximately 22" long plus the length of the pendant.

 

If you prefer you can remove the cord to and attach a shorter piece to hang your artwork or display it on a stand.

 

This domino is approximately 1" wide by 2" high (plus the height of the bail).

 

All altered art items are hand crafted by owner/designer Carla Ekman. The creation of each piece involves multiple steps and multiple days. Carla spends many hours searching for the right images and manipulates them digitally. They are then affixed to whatever medium she is using (bamboo tile, domino, scrabble tile etc.) After that they are sprayed with a protective coating, painted if desired, and then a hard protective glaze is applied. Each step requires lengthy dry times. After the piece is finished it may ben embellished with beads, or strung simply so the owner can enjoy their new miniature artwork piece.
