This particular piece of altered art is affixed to black bamboo tile. The back of the tile is blank (black).

 

A sterling silver moon and star charm dangles from the bottom.

 

This piece comes on a piece of black faux suede and has a sterling silver hook clasp. The necklace is approximately 17".  The bamboo tile is approxmiately 1 1/2" by 3/4".

 

All altered art items are hand crafted by owner/designer Carla Ekman. The creation of each piece involves multiple steps and multiple days. Carla spends many hours searching for the right images and manipulates them digitally. They are then affixed to whatever medium she is using (bamboo tile, domino, scrabble tile etc.) After that they are sprayed with a protective coating, painted if desired, and then a hard protective glaze is applied. Each step requires lengthy dry times. After the piece is finished it may ben embellished with beads, or strung simply so the owner can enjoy their new miniature artwork piece.
