This beautiful picture is from a full-color vintage advertisement. The topic of the ad is not known.

 

This particular piece of altered art is affixed to a larger domino. The sides of the domino are hand-painted with silver metallic paint.

 

The back of the item is a standard domino with colored numbers. The domino is center drilled to hold the cord.

 

This piece comes on a piece of dark blue faux suede.  The necklace as a sterling silver hook clasp and is 18.5" long plus the length of the pendant.

 

If you prefer you can remove the cord to and attach a shorter piece to hang your artwork or display it on a stand.

 

This domino is approximately 1" wide by 2" high (plus the height of the bail).

 

All altered art items are hand crafted by owner/designer Carla Ekman. The creation of each piece involves multiple steps and multiple days. Carla spends many hours searching for the right images and manipulates them digitally. They are then affixed to whatever medium she is using (bamboo tile, domino, scrabble tile etc.) After that they are sprayed with a protective coating, painted if desired, and then a hard protective glaze is applied. Each step requires lengthy dry times. After the piece is finished it may ben embellished with beads, or strung simply so the owner can enjoy their new miniature artwork piece.
