These appear to be done all in one color. Is that correct?
Stephanie Brown Bowen
Yes - here is what the leaflet says
The three houses shown in the booklet are stitched using counted cross stitch and back stitch, all in one color. Stitches are done with one strand of floss to make the back stitches, half cross stitches and cross stitches. Cross stitches are also made with two strands of floss. The three different types of stitches give three different values, or tones to the shading of the house.
The designs require more than one skein of floss, so be sure to buy five skeins for the large designs and two for the smaller design. Any dark color can be used; a dark blue, green, burgundy, brown black, or purple will work.
